Elle, and an unconvinced companion, discover an orphaned newly hatched blue dragon and she carefully attempts to collect the foundling. The Elf and the mage were photographed separately and merged together in the scene. The background and foreground rocks were shot in British Columbia. The dragon is a small, hand painted lead figure and was shot, along with three individual images of the eggshells in the nest, in the studio. All seven images were then melded together in Photoshop to create the tableau.
