The work consists of four separate photographs, Our charming, but deadly, Elle, the wall behind her, the castle interior and the creature approaching, The ogre is a two inch lead figure painted for the effect and much enlarged for the image. Some shadows and the blood effect on his axe were added in Photoshop. Although four separate photographs were used to create this scene, there was still a total of 14 layers to adjust light and shadow to convincing levels.
